FExplorer is a nice program but two major flaws:

I have to 'symbian sign' is myself even when my phone is set to 'accept all installations' in the applications manager.
And that signing is a real nightmare.

All other Symbian V3 apps are offered signed.

Why can't you distribuite it signed ?

cause it is a beta and i dont know if symbian will sign a beta version. it is also not possible to make a general developer certificate so you have to sign it for every single imei. you can selfsign it for example by using --> http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32374

maybe it is easier than the step by step tutorial. i hope if domi will continue, it will be hosted and available at http://www.gosymbian.com:-)

sorry for that Embarassed
i've uploaded a non-corrupt archive. the dll-files are only nesseccary if the DevCertRequest process produce an error at startup. it's the program that starts after entering the imei.

yes, please! click somewhere onto the error message window ("SignSIS.exe encountered an error: bla bla bla) and press [ctrl]+[c]
this will copy the complete text in the window and then paste here Smile

Hi,

to reply to the first post of this topic : "why don't you distribute a signed version" .... that's because the signing process has been rejected by NOKIA !!!!

Domi.

I think they denied him because they know what his software can do. Nokia does not want any customer do play around in the system directory and change attributes on files.

I will let you know the error message in a few hours ladiko.
I am still at my work.

So it is worth to download the installation file again from the site?
It is an upgraded version there now?

I think they are stupid, they can never stop experienced users to go inside the system. I have known this OS since 1998 when I bought my self a Psion 5mx. It was because of the OS that I choosed a Nokia phone for the first place. In ProfiMail there is a FileExplorer that can go inside most of the directorys, except Private and sys, it can also show hidden files but not change any attributes.

ohh i dont get or note your query. you get a pm. nokia's point of view isnt understandable for me. why get programs like x-plore signed? it let you send all types of files via BT, IR etc. what build-in file manager prohibit and it is also possible to edit the attributes or take a look into the system folder. maybe they turn a blind eye to commerical programs where they can sell a certificate.

hmm do you have a password in the expected field? default is 0123456. does it happen only with one file or all? or maybe you do not use the shiped key-file?!?

edit:
ok i could reproduce your error message.

if i use a wrong password/key i get
Code:
error:06065064:digital envelope routines:EVP_DecryptFinal:bad decrypterror:0D0680A8:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_CHECK_TLEN:wrong tagencryption error, Cannot load D:\Symbian\SignSIS-GUI\SignSIS.key.

if i use no / empty password/key i get
Code:
error:0906A068:PEM routines:PEM_do_header:bad password readerror:0D0680A8:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_CHECK_TLEN:wrong tagencryption error, Cannot load D:\Symbian\SignSIS-GUI\SignSIS.key.

the last one is exactly the same you get.
